Dr. Miriam Afi Kosi is a sociologist and development researcher whose academic formation is grounded in the University of Ghana. She holds a B.A. and M.Phil. in Sociology, and a PhD in Development Studies from the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER). Her doctoral research was supported by the prestigious DAAD In-Country/In-Region Scholarship. She currently serves as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at ISSER.

Dr. Kosi's scholarship sits at the intersection of development and social transformation, with research interests spanning environmental change risk reduction and adaptation, digital technologies and the future of work, youth employment, gender, and maternal and child health. Across these domains, her work is distinguished by a sustained commitment to generating policy-relevant evidence in service of inclusive and sustainable development; with particular attention to the Ghanaian and broader African context.
